Open Design Italia 2015

The 2015 edition of Open Design Italia is taking place from 29th to 31st May 2015 in Trento, at Trento Fiere (trade fairs centre) to showcase the work of designers and craftsmen from all over the world, selected in an international competition.

The call is open to designers, fashion designers, artists, makers, craftsmen and small companies who have planned or conceived of all the production and distribution phases of their products. The participants will be selected by an international jury.

The deadline to apply for the selection is February 23, 2026.

Open Design Italia selects products that have a high narrative value, that convey the know-how required and that favour a short supply chain, illustrating the collaborative work between the designer, local enterprise and craftsman of the their respective territory.

Since 2010, Open Design Italia is a market-exhibition which focuses on self-produced and small series design and selects creative people through an international competition. The initiative has stemmed from the participation, back in 2008, of some young Bolognese designers in "Designers Open", one of the major European events in the field of design and architecture held in Leipzig, the German town which is twinned with Bologna since 1962.
